BIBLE - Joseph.... May His word become firmly planted in the hearts of these precious little ones. "...These words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." Deut. 6:6-7 "...Take heed to yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren." Deut. 4:9 "Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." Deut. 11:18-19
ACTIVITIES FOR YOU AND YOUR KINDERGARTNER TO DO TOGETHER
Read every day! Work on sight words 10 minutes a day! Practice writing letters in all kinds of medium such as shaving cream, peanut butter, yogurt, jelly, sand, mud, whipped cream, ice cream, etc. This creates a kinesthetic connection to the brain. Make letters with playdoh or make them cookie dough or pillsbury dough and cook and eat! Write the letters with liquid glue and cover the glue with sand. Let the letters dry and then practice tracing over the letters. Do this with the sight words, as well! Begin looking for sight words while you read together. See if your little one can identify any sight words on a page - make it a game of I Spy!
